the story

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Joseph. Joseph had a special coat with many beautiful colors that his father gave him because he loved him very much. His coat made him stand out, and it made his brothers very jealous. Joseph also had some special dreams that God gave him.

Joseph dreamt that his brothers' bundle of wheat bowed down to his, and another dream where the sun, moon, and stars bowed down to him. When Joseph shared his dreams with his brothers, they became even more jealous and didn't like him.

One day, Joseph's brothers got so angry and jealous that they decided to do something bad. They sold Joseph to some people who took him far, far away from his family! Joseph ended up in Egypt, where he faced many challenges!

But God was with Joseph. Joseph continued listening to & loving God. God used Joseph's special gifts to explain what dreams meant, and soon he became an important person in Egypt. He was able to help the Pharaoh, a very powerful person in Egypt, understand his dreams and make wise decisions.

Years later, Joseph's brothers came to Egypt because there was a great hunger in their land. They did not have enough food to eat! When they arrived in Egypt, they didn't recognize Joseph, but Joseph recognized them. Instead of punishing his brothers for all the bad things they did to him, Joseph forgave his brothers. He showed them kindness and love. Joseph's forgiveness and God's plan helped save many people during the famine.

Things you'll need:

Cut a length of elastic cord or stretchy string. Tie a knot at one end of the cord, leaving a small tail to secure the beads. Help the children choose their favorite beads and thread them onto the cord, creating a colorful design. They can mix and match colors and shapes to their liking. Optionally, add spacer beads or alphabet beads to personalize the bracelet with words like "Joseph" or "God's Promise."
